Excerpts from the article on World Net Daily: “A judge in California has granted a preliminary injunction preventing enforcement of California’s newest promotion of homosexuality: a proposed ban on any counseling involving sexual orientation change for minors. … U.S. District Judge William Shubb wrote in his opinion. ‘Because plaintiffs have also shown that they are likely to suffer irreparable harm in the absence of an injunction, that the balance of equities tips in their favor, and that an injunction is in the public interest, the court grants plaintiffs’ motion for a preliminary injunction.’”

Excerpt from the article by Alan Chambers on the Exodus International website: “We began the year determined to make some changes…. Most people believe Exodus is here to help people change their behavior. I understand why that misconception is out there; we’ve tended to highlight that over almost all else. In my opinion, the emphasis on behavior modification for people with SSA has come at the expense of discipleship. The use of therapy and psychology to change orientation, and its promise to cure, has eclipsed and devalued our calling as believers to live a life of daily surrender that may include suffering as a part of our experience as aliens of this world. … now more than ever, Exodus is a ministry focused on discipleship and Christ. We are dedicated to the only One Who can truly change who we are and impact what we do. We want to transcend the moral debate—is homosexuality right or wrong; do people need to change their attraction to be true Christians—and simply point people to Jesus. He must be the answer.”

Excerpts from Matt Barber’s editorial on the World Net Daily website: “In recent months, ‘progressive’ lawmakers, activist attorneys and militant homosexual pressure groups have launched a fierce campaign to ban therapeutic help for child victims of monsters like homosexual pedophile Jerry Sandusky. California has already passed such a law (SB 1172). … The Archives of Sexual Behavior determined in a 2001 study that nearly half of all ‘gay’-identified men were molested by a homosexual pedophile … Under Sandusky Laws, if children begin to experience sexual confusion – such as unwanted same-sex attractions stemming from sexual abuse, trauma or any other factor – these bans force, under penalty of law, parents and therapists to tell the children that they are now ‘gay’ or ‘transgender’ and must live with it – even if they don’t wish to live with it and are otherwise recovering from the abuse-caused sexual confusion.”

Except from the article on LifeSiteNews.com: “A report on HIV infection from the UK’s Health Protection Agency states that new diagnoses among men who have sex with men (MSM) reached an all-time high in 2011, with 3,010 new cases. The report, which was published on Thursday, says a ‘worrying’ trend has developed since 2007, with rates of new HIV infections rising rapidly among homosexual men. Nearly one in 12 male homosexuals in London now has HIV. In the rest of the nation, one in 20 homosexual men is HIV-positive.”

Excerpts from Gina Miller’s article on the Renew America website: “On Tuesday, the SPLC filed suit in New Jersey Superior Court claiming that JONAH’s leaders violated New Jersey’s Consumer Fraud Act by claiming to offer a cure for homosexuality with conversion therapy. … This is not about JONAH’s methods, however unusual they may be. Nor is it about consumers being defrauded. It is about the nationwide effort of the Left to create mainstream legitimacy for the sin of homosexuality. In doing so, they must discredit the groups that offer help out of the bondage of homosexuality. They must create an atmosphere of public and legal hostility toward those who insist homosexuality is a sin from which you can indeed be free.”

Excerpt from Randy’s response on the Exodus International website: “We have permission to love those we don’t agree with. Jesus does it every day. Abiding in Christ includes a universe of meaning but let’s emphasize patience, humility and truth. I think it is quite ok to let your friendship with this man continue to redevelop as long as you are not compromising your core convictions, manipulating him or edifying some old dysfunctional pattern in either or both of you. Plus, as you stated … who knows how and if this friendship will redevelop. Regardless, life is SO much more than this or that issue. We could all stand for more redemptive truth, gracious compassion and sacrificial/unconditional friendship in the world.”

Excerpt from information about the YouTube video: “‘It’s not something to be afraid of. It’s something that people face, a lot of people face as a course of their everyday life,’ says Aaron Bitzer, one who has faced these challenges. Mr. Bitzer shares in this video the truth that part of who we are as humans is the ability to choose how we live our life. ‘Impulses and cravings do not define a person,’ he shares. While some people choose to engage in a homosexual lifestyle, others choose to abstain.”

Excerpt from the JONAH Press Release: “JONAH will vigorously defend itself and gender-affirming processes from the baseless attack contained in the lawsuit. Arthur Goldberg, JONAH’s Co-Director, stated, “We remain steadfast in our commitment to assist those with unwanted same-sex attractions. There are thousands of people who have shed their unwanted same-sex attractions, not only through our programs, but also through other similar programs”. See www.voices-of -change.org. … The intent of this lawsuit is to totally deny individuals the freedom to seek help for their own unwanted same-sex attractions. This bias denies the diversity of thought, belief and feeling within the GLBT and Questioning population. Whatever SPLC’s goals, this narrow-minded lawsuit runs directly contrary to true support for diversity and tolerance. “

Excerpt from the article on the SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center) website: “The Southern Poverty Law Center filed a first-of-its-kind lawsuit today accusing a New Jersey organization of consumer fraud for offering conversion therapy services – a dangerous and discredited practice that claims to convert people from gay to straight. … ‘People who are told repeatedly that they are innately defective are being abused and traumatized,’ said Laura Booker, a licensed clinical social worker who helps people recover from conversion therapy’s devastating effects. …‘They may spend years recovering from the trauma inflicted upon them.’ Conversion therapy also promotes the idea that gay men and lesbians choose their sexual orientation, a position that encourages a climate of anti-gay bigotry.” [Editor’s note: I have not found any professional sexual orientation therapists or ex-gay ministries who tell their clients they are “innately defective” or who “promote the idea that gay men and lesbians choose their sexual orientation.”]

Excerpt from the article in the Washington Times: “Of the nearly 48,000 new HIV cases identified in the United States in 2010, the latest year for which complete data are available, more than 12,000 involved teens and young adults, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) found in its latest report. About 72 percent of these new HIV cases in younger adults occurred in young men who are gay or bisexual, according to the CDC report.”
