Joe Dallas – Bad decisions create chains that Christ can help break

January 24, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Religious Perspective

December 16, 2013

The following excerpts are from the Joe Dallas blog “Lessons from “A Christmas Carol” Part One: Unchained:” … “Men don’t come into my office because of a bad decision they made. They come because of hundreds, even thousands of bad decisions, linked together to forge a chain they, like Jacob Marley from the Dickens story, gird and wear of their own free will.”

“It usually starts with a discovery. Some act – the use of porn, a sexual fantasy, whatever – delivers impact. Deep impact, which the brain carefully records for future reference. Then, when the man is either bored, or angry, or lonely, or uncomfortable in some other way, the brain reminds him of the impact the sexual behavior delivered. So he repeats it, then the repetition becomes a pattern, the pattern becomes a dependency, and a chain is forged.” (more…)

The following excerpts are from the article “Investigation demanded into discrimination against ex-‘gays’” on World Net Dailey: “The U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division has been asked to investigate Montgomery County, Md., school Superintendent Joshua Starr for bigoted statements against a minority group that he has criticized as being ‘really, really disgusting.’ The request has been filed by officials with Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays, who also are asking for intervention by the Office for Civil Rights in the U.S. Department of Education.”

“The issue is Starr’s intolerance of members of the ex-‘gay’ community, according to a complaint, a copy of which was posted online. (more…)

UK Minister of Parliament introduces legislation to ban sexual orientation change efforts

January 18, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Ex-gay News, Gay Politics

December 13, 2013

The following excerpts are from the article “New Bill condemns vulnerable to unwanted gay lifestyles” on the Christian Concern website: … “Labour MP Geraint Davies has introduced the Counsellors and Psychotherapists (Regulation) Bill, which aims to outlaw therapies offering help to men and women who want to change unwanted feelings for their own gender.”

“Dr. Mike Davidson, Director of the Core Issues Trust, represents the interests of men and women from many different backgrounds who have decided to live a non-gay life. … ‘Homosexuality is not a disease and nor is it an inborn condition. My opposition to this obnoxious bill is that the rights and freedom of vulnerable people with feelings they don’t want to keep, would be dismissed, and they would be forced to lead traumatic lives. That’s tyranny,’ said Dr. Davidson.” (more…)

Christopher Doyle responds to gay activist’s new website

December 13, 2013

The following excerpts are from the article “Wayne ‘It’s Ok to Have Sex with Aids Infected Partners’ Besen Launches Junk Science Website” on the Voice of Voiceless website: “Friday the 5th of December 2013 marked a new low in the pursuit of scientific research on LGBT issues. Wayne ‘It’s OK to Have Sex with AIDS-Infected Partners’ Besen, the founder and creator of the hilariously named hate group Truth Wins Out, announced yet another creative effort to promote “scientifically proven truth” concerning LGBT issues. His new website, LGBTscience.com, also touts the “harmful” and “unscientific” nature of reparative therapies.”

… “Considering Mr. Besen’s stated efforts, it is astonishing that he and his researchers offer only one point of view on their new website. They appear to have made a common error seen in many overly biased research efforts. (more…)

NARTH responds to WHA statement on human sexuality

January 18, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Clinical Science, Gay Politics, Sexual Orientation Change Efforts

December 12, 2013

The following excerpts are from the “NARTH Response to the WMA Statement on Natural Variations of Human Sexuality” on the NARTH website: “The National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH) is greatly dismayed by the recent statement from the World Medical Association (WMA, 2013), which is not so much a reflection on human sexuality as it is a clear attempt to discredit any and all professional attempts to assist clients who wish to modify same-sex attractions and behaviors. NARTH observes that the WMA’s statement in many places lacks scientific integrity, sometimes providing conclusions that are no more supportable than speculation and at other times failing to provide adequate scholarly context. Given these serious shortcomings, NARTH believes that it is necessary to provide the public with information WMA irresponsibly neglected in their statement.” (more…)

Andrew Comiskey – Gay activists assault the Gospel message

January 18, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Ex-gay News, Gay Politics, Religious Perspective

December 10, 2013

Following are excerpts from Andrew Comiskey’s blog “Advent 2, Beauty, Burning:” … “Nowhere is Gospel beauty more needful than in the superficial, irrational moralizing of gay activists. Two recent examples: a NYC Catholic High School invited a priest to address the Church’s response to homosexuality, which involves the humane and compassionate goal of chastity—purity expressed in and through the body. The outcry against his visit (and chastity for persons with SSA in particular) was so great that the school rescinded the invitation. Similarly, Liz and Mary, daughters of former Vice-President Dick Cheney, differ on their views of ‘gay marriage.’ Yet Mary, a ‘married’ lesbian activist, slammed her conservative sister with this public statement: ‘Liz, this is not an issue on which we disagree. You are just wrong. And on the wrong side of history.’”

“Activists are no longer intent on their ‘gay’ rights; they now demonize anyone who disagrees with them. (more…)

Michael Glatze’s message to the gay activists who criticize his sexual orientation change

January 18, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Ex-gay News, testimony

December 6, 2013

The following excerpt is from the letter “To hateful ‘gays’: Please respect my choices” written by Michael Glatze and published on World Net Daily: (Historical note: Michael Glatze was the founding editor of Young Gay America magazine.) … “We are not a couple of people who are interested, per se, in being political pawns. I have never called myself an “ex-gay,” though other people have called me that. But, then again, people have called me a lot of things, on account of the fact that I left homosexuality a few years back and decided that I felt more comfortable living heterosexually. This came about as direction from God and has been the best choice God ever made in my life – continuing to bear fruit to this day! Over the past several years, I have written extensively about this decision, the ramifications of it and the various things I have learned along the way – to anyone interested. One is not required to read what I have to say.

For those who have an interest in reading what I have to say, I have a few more things to communicate here. (more…)

Radio host Dennis Prager acknowledges the Left lies about homosexuality and ex-gays

January 18, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Ex-gay News, Gay Politics, Homosexuality Causation

December 4, 2013

Christopher Doyle, ex-gay, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and founder of Voice of the Voiceless engaged radio host Dennis Prager on the etiology of homosexuality. In the exchange Prager did acknowledge that “The Left – the straight Left as well as the gay Left – have told as usual they have lied on behalf of their values, just as the President did, in my sad opinion, with regard to health care and with regard to his opposition to getting rid of the filibuster. The lie is that it is fixed in everybody; every gay it’s fixed. It’s amazing, the gay and straight Left tell us that sexual orientation is fixed, but gender isn’t. That’s what so, it’s mind-blowing, the world of lies, really, that we are expected to believe, and when said often enough people do believe it. (more…)

Phelim McIntyre concerned with new APA classification of pedophilia

January 18, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Clinical Science, Ex-gay News

December 2, 2013

The following excerpts are from the article “The Dark Shadow of Pedophilia” written by Phelim McIntyre and published on the Voice of the Voiceless website: … “So let’s now put this together and see the possible consequences. A client is using virtual porn, so no child is being harmed, and has no shame or guilt about his or her sexual feelings. Under the new APA guidelines their pedophilic “sexual interest” does not meet the definition of a disorder so, just as Qunisey, van Lunsen, van Beek and Van Gijseghem want, the client could refuse to accept treatment for the perceived “disorder.”

With the various bans on SOCE therapy [Sexual Orientation Change Efforts], the client could even attempt to sue the therapist for attempting to force a therapy onto them that they did not want. Thanks to the “mistake” from the APA, we have now given power to the pedophile to legitimize their behaviour. (more…)

Unprotected Gay Sex Increasing / HIV cases likely to increase

January 12, 2014 By: Tom Coy Category: Clinical Science

November 27, 2013

Excerpt from the New York Times article “Rise in Unprotected Sex by Gay Men Spurs H.I.V. Fears” written by Donald G. McNeil Jr.: “Federal health officials are reporting a sharp increase in unprotected sex among gay American men, a development that makes it harder to fight the AIDS epidemic. The same trend has recently been documented among gay men in Canada, Britain, the Netherlands, France and Australia, heightening concerns among public health officials worldwide.”

“According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of men who told federal health investigators that they had had unprotected anal sex in the last year rose nearly 20 percent from 2005 to 2011. In the 2011 survey, unprotected sex was more than twice as common among men who said they did not know whether they were infected with H.I.V. …”
