New video documentary on understanding same-sex attractions

A thirty minute video documentary offering factual information on homosexual causation and homosexual attractions is now online. Those featured in “Understanding Same Sex Attractions” include psychologists, counselors, and those who have unwanted same-sex attractions. One of the licensed counselors in the documentary, Floyd Godfrey, articulated that the “easiest way to understand homosexual feelings would be by the definition that it is the sexualization of emotional needs and wounds.” The documentary is produced by Family Watch International and can be linked HERE.

South African organization gives the facts on sexual orientation and change

In an article entitled “Former Homosexuals do Exist in South Africa” André Bekker gives a well documented presentation of the known facts about homosexual causation and the possibility of sexual orientation change. The article begins: “Discussing the subject of Homosexuality is one of the most controversial and politicized subjects of our day. However, a discussion that is needed is the matter of people who have decided against a gay identity and/or lifestyle, and have transitioned to a heterosexual identity, or who find themselves in some stage of this transition.”

The following excerpts are from the article “Same-Sex Desire: Hardwired With No Hope for Change?” by Sue Ellen Browder on the National Catholic Register website: … “In an interview with the Register, [Nicholas] Cummings expressed dismay that the American Psychological Association would allow its task force’s statements to be misused by the SPLC and others as ‘proof’ the therapy should be outlawed. ‘The APA hasn’t flatly come out and said that reparative therapy should be illegal,’ Cummings said. ‘But it is certainly supporting of all those who say that.’”

Study looks at how faith in God affects therapy

The following excerpts are from the article “How Faith Can Affect Therapy” By Ashley Taylor on the New York Times website: … “‘Patients who had higher levels of belief in God demonstrated more effects of treatment,’ said the study’s lead author, David H. Rosmarin, a psychologist at McLean Hospital and director of the Center for Anxiety in New York. ‘They seemed to get more bang for their buck, so to speak.’”

“One possible reason for this, he said, is that ‘patients who had more faith in God also had more faith in treatment. They were more likely to believe that the treatment would help them, and they were more likely to see it as credible and real.’” (more…)

The following excerpts are from the article “CDC warns gay men of ‘epidemic’ HIV rates” by Thaddeus Baklinski on the LifeSiteNews.com: “A fact sheet released at the end of June by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) warns that HIV rates, already at epidemic proportions, are continuing to climb steadily among men who have sex with men (MSM). “Gay and bisexual men remain at the epicenter of the HIV/AIDS epidemic,” says Jonathan Mermin, the director of the CDC’s division of HIV/AIDS prevention.”

“The CDC notes that while homosexual men make up only a very small percentage of the male population (4%), MSM account for over three-quarters of all new HIV infections, and nearly two-thirds (63 percent) of all new infections in 2010 (29,800).” (more…)

Each week professional counselors and therapists continue to meet with the many individuals seeking help for their desire to manage or diminish their unwanted homosexual attractions.
