Excerpt from the Christian Post: – Mark Driscoll, the founding pastor of Seattle-based Mars Hill Church, “often posts his thoughts on the cultural news of the day through the use of social media. In a Facebook post on his page from this week that was later removed, Driscoll asked, ‘So, what story do you have about the most effeminate anatomically male worship leader you’ve ever personally witnessed?’”

Greg Quinlan defends counseling to overcome unwanted same-sex attractions

July 17, 2012 By: Tom Coy Category: Ex-gay News, Gay Politics, Sexual Orientation Change Efforts

July 13, 2011

Excerpt from Greg Quinlan’s statement: “Why have gay activists instigated media attention over ex-gays and the husband of Presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann?

Apparently, Mr. Bachmann, who has a PhD in clinical psychology, operates several counseling centers which also offer services to homosexual clients seeking to overcome unwanted same-sex attractions. But because even one ex-gay proves that homosexual behavior is not innate or immutable, the gay lobby’s fear of their former members results in false claims and attacks aimed at preventing homosexuals from exercising their right to self-determination. They cannot bear to have even one homosexual leave homosexuality, hence their outrage at Dr. Bachmann.

I know because I am ex-gay myself. I suffer more harassment as a former homosexual than I ever did as an out and proud homosexual. (more…)

From Parents and Friends of Ex-gays and Gays (PFOX): “Jennings recently announced he will leave the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools. However, during Jennings’ tenure he met with PFOX, which advocates for equality and equal access for the ex-gay community, and assured them that his office represents students with all sexual orientations, including those with unwanted same-sex attractions (SSA). July 17, 2012 By: Tom Coy Category: Ex-gay News, Gay Politics

The apparent maneuvering of gay activists has led to a Maryland public school district entertaining statements on homosexuality, one of which attacked “the right of individuals with unwanted same-sex attractions to seek therapy to overcome those attractions.” PFOX heard about the statements and has responded by presenting the school board “with peer-reviewed academic research confirming that some people have changed from homosexual to heterosexual.” The full text of PFOX’s news release follows: (more…)

April 12, 2011

From the PFOX newsletter “California Legislating Morality:” – “I am ________ and I speak to you on behalf of PFOX, Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays, an organization of families and friends of the ex-gay community. I’m a California native and a proud graduate of UC Berkeley. I also spent 19 years of my life living as a man. My first words were “I’m a boy.” If anyone could say they were born this way, it was me. I thought I had no choice but to get surgery or continue dating women as a man trapped in a girl’s body. I became suicidal not because of lack of understanding from others but because I personally didn’t want to live this way and no one offered me any other choice.” The full text of the PFOX email news release follows: (more…)

PFOX uses Day of Silence to advocate for ex-gay rights

July 17, 2012 By: Tom Coy Category: Ex-gay News, Gay Politics

April 11, 2011

The following excerpt is from the PFOX press release. The full text can be found at http://pfox.org/PFOX-Day-Silence-Supports-Ex-Gay-Rights.html.

“Because homosexual activists try to censor the ex-gay point of view, PFOX asks students to distribute ex-gay literature to their friends in support of equality for the ex-gay community,” said Griggs. “The day of silence enables students to distribute ex-gay literature without harassment since opponents are obligated to remain silent that day.” Many of PFOX’s brochures are geared towards youth and explain sexual orientation, tolerance for the ex-gay community, gender identity disorder, anti-bullying policies for both gays and ex-gays, and resources for unwanted same-sex attractions.

March 28, 2011

PFOX issued the following response to Apple stopping Exodus International‘s iPhone application. “Apparently Apple is afraid of real diversity and tolerance,” said Christopher Doyle, former homosexual and PFOX board member. “Individuals with unwanted same-sex attraction deserve support from the same technology that gays benefit from – why are ex-gays being singled out for blatant sexual orientation discrimination?” The full statement from PFOX can be found at http://pfox.org/Apple-Computer-Discriminating-Against-Ex-Gays.html or below.
