The following PFOX commentary is reprinted in its entirety: Normal sexuality – heterosexuality – is not a disease, yet legislation outlawing heterosexual counseling treats it as one. Promoted by the gay lobby, these bills take away the rights of minors to be treated for unwanted same-sex attractions by a licensed therapist. The bills usually cite a select list of mental health organizations to back up their dubious claims, choosing to ignore other organizations that say the contrary. Regardless, no mental health association bans therapy for unwanted same-sex attractions, which is why gay activists turn to politicians to use government force against choice. (more…)

The following excerpts are from the blog “Joy Rising” on Andrew Comiskey’s website: … “Soon after I flew to London. There I had the privilege of making known His transforming power to a people living in the shadow of death. A courageous band of Christians is protesting efforts of the government to vilify caregivers offering hope and help to persons seeking to overcome same-sex attraction.”
“I witnessed an outrageous smear campaign at work: powerful, savvy activists have hamstrung politicians throughout the land. One such politician addressed our conference; he had just introduced a bill to their parliament to ban anyone helping persons seeking to overcome homosexuality. His appeal was an empty, illogical string of politically correct fables. Though he knew little to nothing about therapy or gender disorders, he did know something about the gay lobby that monitors such politicians and can make or break one’s reelection. So he railed on about the need to outlaw ‘aggressive, gay conversion therapists.’” (more…)

The following excerpts are from the article “Are Anti-Gay Laws Created Because of Anti-Gay Countries?” on the Voice of the Voiceless website: … “I want to be extremely clear that in no way do I condone or encourage the use of punitive measures towards people who are same-sex attracted or identify themselves as gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT). … Gay activists continue to play the victim card around the world, but their story is getting old. However, the media still plays into their narratives. For example, just this week Bill O’Reilly had Juan Williams and another commentator slam Vladimir Putin’s recent comments, telling gays to ‘leave the children in peace’ when athletes come to Sochi for the Olympic games in February.”
“O’Reilly and company joked about how un-evolved and ignorant Putin is when it comes to gay rights while condemning the Russian anti-gay propaganda law, which passed in their legislative body 436-0. But in actuality, O’Reilly and just about the entire mainstream media are really the ones who are unable to think critically on this issue.” (more…)

The following quote was in the article “Dozens of Gays Arrested in Nigeria Under Strict New Law” by Jeff Schapiro on the Christian Post website. The article included Christopher Doyle”s comments on Nigeria’s new law against homosexual organizations and gay marriage: “Christopher Doyle, president of Voice of the Voiceless, an advocacy organization that works to support former homosexuals and individuals with unwanted same-sex attraction (SSA), said Tuesday that the law is ‘overly punitive’ and could create an environment of fear instead of one where people struggling with SSA can get help.”
“‘In that sense it sort of drives the discourse around this issue underground, and I don’t think that’s a good thing,’ said Doyle.” (more…)

The following excerpts are from the report “Defenseless, Surrounded” on Andrew Comiskey’s blog: … “I am mindful of God’s willingness to become utterly vulnerable, as are those of us who stand for the healing of persons with SSA. On every side, we are derided: politically by the flourishing of ‘gay marriage,’ clinically by the new trend to bash therapeutic efforts of persons seeking to align their sexuality with their faith, and spiritually by churchmen who, caught in the crossfire, abandon those seeking transformation.”
“You could say we have never been more vulnerable. Protective walls have thinned or fallen. But actually, we are surrounded; together we bow before the luminous Babe, all the more grateful for the mercy that exposed the depth of our sin and surpassed it many times over. We join with the angels and saints—the entire host of Heaven–in worshiping our King. (more…)

The following PFOX response to the Duck Dynasty controversy is reprinted in its entirety: The gay bullying and intimidation deployed against Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson is nothing new to the ex-gay community. For too long in this country, gay rights organizations have incorporated ex-gay bashing as an integral part of their mission. Christian ex-gays are ridiculed for their faith, while people seeking therapy for unwanted same-sex attractions are painted as dangerously delusional. On this one-way street of intolerance, former homosexuals are accused of being liars or fakes while transgenders are celebrated for changing their gender identity. Using their political power and mainstream media support, gay activists work to keep ex-gays in the closet while demanding legal recognition of single-sex marriage as an equal right.
This well-organized and heavily-funded bullying of former homosexuals and ex-gay speech is known by the ex-gay community as ‘homofascism.’ (more…)

The following press release “Leading Same-Sex Attraction Ministry Organizations for Latter-day Saints To Unite Under North Star Umbrella” comes from the North Star International website and is reprinted in its entirety: Salt Lake City, UT – January 1, 2014: The Board of Directors of North Star International and Evergreen International announced today that North Star International will absorb certain resources and assets of Evergreen International, and beginning January 1, 2014 those resources will operate under the name and direction of North Star International.
Since its founding more than 20 years ago as a support organization for the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Evergreen’s mission has always been similar to North Star’s in its desire to assist those who experience same-sex attraction and who desire to live in harmony with their spiritual and religious values. The following PFOX News Alert “Ex-Gays Ask Duck Dynasty Critics to Stop Hating Former Homosexuals” is reprinted in its entirety: Now that GLAAD has successfully pushed cable network A&E to suspend Phil Robertson from his popular reality TV show, GLAAD is demanding that Mr. Robertson ‘sit down with gay families in Louisiana and learn about their lives and the values they share.’ PFOX asks that GLAAD do the same and sit down with members of the ex-gay community.
For too long, gay groups like GLAAD have used their political power and Hollywood influence to censor positive portrayals of former homosexuals. This irrational phobia of those who have overcome unwanted same-sex attractions perpetuates misunderstanding and harm against the ex-gay community. It also demonstrates a disregard for diversity and a refusal to respect a basic human right to dignity and self-determination. (more…)
