Excerpt from the ad: “Every American who believes in freedom of thought and religious liberty should be alarmed by the attacks upon the Boy Scouts, who have had core convictions about morality for 100 years. Every Scout takes an oath to keep himself ‘morally straight.’ The Boy Scouts have every right to include sexual conduct in how they define that term. Many of our organizations stood with the Boy Scouts when the Supreme Court of the United States upheld their right to maintain their membership standards. To compromise moral principles under political and financial pressure would teach boys cowardice, not courage.” The ad can be linked here.

Excerpt from Christian Concern: “A Christian psychotherapist is the subject of a professional conduct inquiry in London for supporting therapy for those with unwanted feelings of same-sex attraction. Dr Davidson is a trainee with the British Psychodrama Association (BPA) and also a director of Core Issues Trust, a non-profit Christian ministry supporting men and women with homosexual issues who voluntarily seek change in sexual preference and expression. He took part in a BBC local radio broadcast in January 2012. As a result of comments he made about homosexuality, the BBC interviewer – among others – complained to Dr Davidson’s professional body. In response to a question, Dr Davidson said: ‘yes I do believe homosexuality is a sin.’”

Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund news release: “This week FCDF is delivering to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) copies of dozens of studies and articles, and references to hundreds of others, that categorically prove that people can and do change their sexual orientations and desires. Indeed several of the articles and studies were written by homosexual researchers and activists who claim that sexual orientation is fluid and flexible. One of the organizations that promotes the idea that sexual orientation is fluid and flexible is the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN). Ironically, GLSEN is an SPLC ally in promoting the radical homosexual agenda in the schools. Thus, it is anticipated that SPLC’s ill-conceived, politically motivated, lawsuit will backfire badly, and that its false accusations will be exposed and defeated.” (more…)

Article by Alan Medinger copied from the PFOX website: “We have long recognized that the homosexual drive is not, at its root, sexual. The drive gains its direction and power from certain things inside a person, in many cases unmet needs or fears. Not always, but most often, in men it is an unmet need or a deficit, and in women, it is a fear.”
This article will deal solely with male homosexuality because I am going to discuss an unmet need that comes out of deficit in a boy’s relationship with his father. To be clear, women dealing with same sex attractions (SSA) can have father deficits too, and so true healing for them may at some point require them to see men as protectors (a fatherly role). But the dynamics of these father deficits are quite different, so I will focus on men with SSA. (more…)

Excerpt from the article by Alan Chambers on the Exodus International website: “We began the year determined to make some changes…. Most people believe Exodus is here to help people change their behavior. I understand why that misconception is out there; we’ve tended to highlight that over almost all else. In my opinion, the emphasis on behavior modification for people with SSA has come at the expense of discipleship. The use of therapy and psychology to change orientation, and its promise to cure, has eclipsed and devalued our calling as believers to live a life of daily surrender that may include suffering as a part of our experience as aliens of this world. … now more than ever, Exodus is a ministry focused on discipleship and Christ. We are dedicated to the only One Who can truly change who we are and impact what we do. We want to transcend the moral debate—is homosexuality right or wrong; do people need to change their attraction to be true Christians—and simply point people to Jesus. He must be the answer.”

Excerpts from Gina Miller’s article on the Renew America website: “On Tuesday, the SPLC filed suit in New Jersey Superior Court claiming that JONAH’s leaders violated New Jersey’s Consumer Fraud Act by claiming to offer a cure for homosexuality with conversion therapy. … This is not about JONAH’s methods, however unusual they may be. Nor is it about consumers being defrauded. It is about the nationwide effort of the Left to create mainstream legitimacy for the sin of homosexuality. In doing so, they must discredit the groups that offer help out of the bondage of homosexuality. They must create an atmosphere of public and legal hostility toward those who insist homosexuality is a sin from which you can indeed be free.”

Excerpt from Randy’s response on the Exodus International website: “We have permission to love those we don’t agree with. Jesus does it every day. Abiding in Christ includes a universe of meaning but let’s emphasize patience, humility and truth. I think it is quite ok to let your friendship with this man continue to redevelop as long as you are not compromising your core convictions, manipulating him or edifying some old dysfunctional pattern in either or both of you. Plus, as you stated … who knows how and if this friendship will redevelop. Regardless, life is SO much more than this or that issue. We could all stand for more redemptive truth, gracious compassion and sacrificial/unconditional friendship in the world.”

Excerpt from information about the YouTube video: “‘It’s not something to be afraid of. It’s something that people face, a lot of people face as a course of their everyday life,’ says Aaron Bitzer, one who has faced these challenges. Mr. Bitzer shares in this video the truth that part of who we are as humans is the ability to choose how we live our life. ‘Impulses and cravings do not define a person,’ he shares. While some people choose to engage in a homosexual lifestyle, others choose to abstain.”

Excerpts from Debora Barr on the PFOX website: “Radical transformation is possible! I lived 18 years of my life as a lesbian with absolutely no desire to change. Now that I have been set free from my invisible shackles, I am experiencing the most wholesome and unconditional love of my Savior, Jesus Christ and will never turn back!” … “They confronted our beliefs in a gentle and loving way, never backing down from their convictions, but gently showing us what the scriptures said about the way we were living. Over time, the Lord convicted us through his word – the Truth.”

Dr. Mike Davidson book The Right to Decide: Seeking justice for choices around unwanted same-sex attractions was recently published. The book is a compilation of storied of those who have walked away from homosexuality. Excerpt from the Introduction: “Yet my own conviction is that this new society in the UK, in its determination to redefine marriage, family and parenting, is about to disrespect profoundly and to violate individuals who have chosen, or will chose … to walk away from homosexuality.” Link to the book.
