Psychotherapist Lesley Pilkington has had her license suspended for trying to help a man who came to her saying that he had unwanted homosexuality. In truth the man was a gay activist reporter seeking to discredit her psychotherapeutic attempt to help him. A short video of her articulating her conviction to her biblical beliefs can be found at http://www.4thought.tv/themes/do-we-still-need-religion–2/935?autoplay=true.

Excerpts from The Christian Post article: – “The president of the world’s largest ministry to homosexuals and their families recently attempted to clarify controversial statements he made at a Gay Christian Network conference in Orlando, Fla., including one in which he described gays at the conference as ‘brothers and sisters in Christ.’”
“‘I believe that if a person has accepted the free gift of salvation, then the gift is irrevocable,’ Exodus International President Alan Chambers explained. ‘So, when someone says that they are a born again believer, I address them as a brother or sister in Christ.” Chambers published his comments on his ministry’s website last Friday, weeks after returning from the annual GCN conference. Here is an excerpt from Alan Chambers‘ blog through Exodus International: – “In January I had the privilege of participating on a panel at the Gay Christian Network Conference here in Orlando. Leslie and another couple from Exodus sat in the audience of 450 people listening as I was grilled for about 3 hours. Some comments I made there have ratcheted up the discussion on multiple levels. All sides are clamoring for a way to associate, disassociate, credit or discredit what I said, what I believe and the organization that I lead. One thing is certain, more conversation is needed and I am excited about being a part of it over the long haul.”
“The two controversial comments I made are:
1. I called a group of people who identify as gay or lesbian (some active, some celibate) brothers and sisters in Christ.
2. 99.9% of the people I know have not changed their sexual orientation.” (more…)

Regina Griggs from Parents and Friends of Gays and Ex-Gays along with Dr. Joseph Nicolosi of the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality were two of ten individuals called the top-ten pro-family champions by Abiding Truth Ministries.
“I rate these groups and individuals based upon my own subjective ‘Courage Index,’” explained Scott Lively, director of the group. “In my estimation, the following groups/individuals have the most of it and have risked the most in defense of biblical truth on the issue of homosexuality.” (more…)

A coalition of over 150 Orthodox rabbis, respected mental health professionals, community leaders, and others from across America and several foreign countries have released the “Declaration on the Torah Approach to Homosexuality.” The declaration is a response to what the signers call “a major public campaign to gain acceptance for homosexuality.” Below are two excerpts from the declaration.
“The Torah makes a clear statement that homosexuality is not an acceptable lifestyle or a genuine identity by severely prohibiting its conduct. (more…)

Excerpt from the interview in the Charisma News: – “Jeff Buchanan, executive vice president of Exodus International, an interdenominational Christian ministry that assists those who struggle with same-sex attraction, is more concerned about social persecution than acts of violence.”
“‘This is going to contribute to a social criminalization on this issue within Brazil. It’s going to separate those who may not necessarily be active, militant, gay community members, but may be struggling,’ Buchanan argues. (more…)

The Fall 2011 newsletter by Parents and Friends of Ex-gays and Gays (PFOX) contains a report of board member Christopher Doyle’s participation in the conference. PFOX was one of the 175 attendees invited to the conference. Christopher asked one congresswoman present at the conference, “What if a student disagrees with homosexual behavior because of their religious view? Is there protection for students in the bill due to religious expression?” The Fall 2011 PFOX newsletter can be found at http://pfox.org/PFOX_newsletter_Fall_2011.pdf.

Following is an excerpt from AlbertMohler.com: – “Virtually all of the secular professions that deal with sexual orientation are stalwartly opposed to reparative therapy, or to any attempt to change one’s pattern of sexual attraction. Indeed, these groups hold to an inflexible ideology that insists that there is absolutely nothing wrong with homosexuality. These groups include, for example, the American Psychological Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the National Association of Social Workers, among many others.” …
“Christians cannot avoid the debate over reparative therapy, nor can we enter the debate on secular terms. (more…)

Excerpt from Andrea’s blog: “Earlier this week I attended and spoke at the Core Issues conference in Belfast. The event explored issues surrounding homosexuality with a particular focus on reparative therapy, which helps those with unwanted feelings of same-sex attraction.” …
“My turn came to speak in the evening. A group of about 50 homosexual rights activists who had picketed the event were invited in to hear my talk. It wasn’t long before some of them voiced their disapproval and I had to quickly adapt my material in response to the chorus of jeers and heckles.” (more…)
