2011 CPAC Convention has both PFOX and GOProud exhibits
February 14, 2011
The 2011 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) was boycotted by many conservative organizations because for the second year in a row CPAC included a gay activist group, GOProud , as a major participant in the conference.
Many of the organizations boycotting the conference placed a full page ad in the Washington Times denouncing CPAC’s partnership with a gay rights organization.
Despite the boycott, Parents and Friends of Ex-gays and Gays (PFOX) had their exhibit at the CPAC conference. Many of the GOProud activists visited the PFOX exhibit and “heard about change from the mouths of ex-gays, who related their personal stories.” PFOX stated that they “encountered more homosexual-identified attendees than we ever have at previous CPAC conferences. Some were nice, some were nasty.” A PFOX article on the 2011 CPAC Conference can be found at http://pfox.org/PFOX_newsletter_spring_2011.pdf.
